Dr. Johnson graciously gave his time to visit our building’s equity committee to share his expertise on how to establish a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive school culture. His insights and knowledge were evident from the start. He helped us understand the differences between the various aspects and responsibilities of a DEI position and shared examples from his work. He answered our questions and gave us concrete steps to take. Having his guidance on how to expand our committee and bring in members from our community and administration have been key take-aways, as evidenced by reaching out to board members and forming a “parent group.” As our journey toward a DEI school continues, we are grateful for the information, opportunities for reflection, and support Dr. Johnson provided us. He is highly qualified and dedicated to this work, and anyone who has the privilege to work with him will find his services invaluable.

Andrew Johnson was an amazing mentor to me in college; being an adult student playing sports and juggling my family and work, Mr. Johnson did everything he could to help me succeed and enjoy every minute on campus. His support and resources got me through college with flying colors and a degree after missing ten years of school before going back. He pushed me to be better than average, and I’ll always thank him for that.
